In this role, I have experienced this profession from a different perspective with a wider view of contributory factors lead to incident/accident I had been an authorised pilot for Aberdeen harbour, conducted over four hundred acts of pilotage in six months. I am well used to of embarking/disembarking the ships via pilot cutter in severe weather conditions. I have eight years experience worked as an authorised pilot for Manchester Ship Canal. I have conducted nearly four thousand acts of pilotage and achieved ultimate experience in ship handling. I have practical knowledge of interaction, squat and blockage factor. These attributes lead to success in my career. I believe my merchant navy, managerial, teaching, pilotage and consultancy experience and my voluntary work for the local community have added to my communication and interpersonal skills, essential for this post.
